The time is the end of the Edo Period.-----
Even in peaceful times, the shadows of change loomed on the horizon.
The saturation of the Japanese culture began to shake the foundations of feudal society.
To slow down the onset of these changes, the shogunate's political policies became more isolationist.
In this time of swirling change, there were frequent occurrences of famine and peasant uprisings.
Due to the fall of their lords and their subsequent loss of purpose, increasing
  numbers of samurai became ronin.
They took up their swords, gave up family and home, and set out in search of glory and riches.

Amid these troubled times, there was a place called Amahara, which had yet to be affected
by these changes because of the prosperity enjoyed from trades with the west.

But the tides of time could not be held back forever........

As the power and influence of the shogunate began to erode, the gap between the rich
and the poor widened. The rights of the people are connected to the group to which
they belong. There are those who seize power and those who give the ones in power support
for a share of it. Even amid this struggle for power, there are those who remain strong,
no matter the circumstances that they have found themselves in...
